LIBERTY SQUARE HAS BEEN DECIDED -- Mayor Carlos Giminez is going Jorge Perez!!!!!

                                                               Carlos A. Gimenez

It's all coming out. The scheme of Carlos Gimenez and Stephen Ross. The bright idea to redevelop Liberty Square was born amongst friends. A very ambitious idea that would reap million for those involved. The Mayor of Miami-Dade, Carlos Gimenez was given the position of leading the play. The only problem was the play had to look legitimate. So in a effort for legitimacy a board would be selected to pick a developer for the project. This is where the problem started. Mr. Ross and the powers that be didn't think that the African community of Liberty City would think in terms of manifest destiny. They did not realize that as beat down and broken as the African communities in the Untied States are the people will always remain strong. In this strength the people will always take control of their destiny. The leaders in the Liberty City community have been quietly cultivating this strength, and are now stepping to the forefront to take control of their community. Mr. Ross and Jorge Perez are out side of this level of understanding.

                                                                   Stephen Ross

Stephen Ross may find victory elusive on the field, but he certainly does not off the field. Strong business men like Mr. Ross are used to controlling Government. So when Mr. Ross's company Related Companies found out they had lost the bid he had to do something. What happened next started what might be the next riot in Miami. Jorge Perez/ Related Development Group sent a letter to Carlos Gimenez office telling there star quarterback they did not like the play. In a effort to run the play over Carlos Gimenez office question who they believed to be the weakest link in the scheme, Liberty Square Residents Council President Sara Smith.
This is skimpily a case of not stacking the deck well enough. Liberty City is saying they are not having it and are standing behind Sara Smith, rumbling threats of violence.

Let's see what happens next!

CLARENCE WOODS III Has The Toughest Job In Miami !

Clarence Woods III

As a African American man coming from the streets of Miami Mr. Woods has earned his way into the toughest job in Miami if not Florida. Mr. Woods job is to change one of the poorest communities in the country into one of the best. African communities have been the target of economic hate and disenfranchisement since colonial times. Africans have bore the heaviest burden since the discovery of North America up into its present with President Obama.
African Pedro Alonso Nino navigated Christopher Columbus, African Conquistador Juan Garrido help discover Florida, African Crispus Attucts the first casualty of the American Revolution, African Harriet Tubman Civil War master spy the only woman to lead an armed troop into combat, and countless other Africans to shape, build, guide, and educate America into the power that it is today.
African Communities like Greenwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma (Black Wall Street); Jackson Ward, Richmond, Virginia; Durham, North Carolina; Rosewood Florida and many more have paid the price of being successfully economically independent by being burned to the ground.
Red lining and just an all out fear of African success has beat our community into the condition we our forced to live with today. But America has made a mistake and left one door open. That door is SEOPW CRA. With this door African communities across this great nation will have an example of what it will take to lead us back to our natural state.
Fighting against failing schools, drugs, negative stereotypes and economic sanctions we have taken a hard look at Mr. Woods for over the past two years. Some actions we have not agreed with, some we have, while letting all be known. We have watched Mr. Woods in the streets of Overtown talk to people and try to give them a better understanding of how the SEOPW CRA can better help them and for that we take our hat off.
Let's stand behind our Brother.

All Aboard Florida Rezoning Request Denied....

Holland & Knight

As reported on October 10, 2014 Holland & Knight led the charge for All Aboard Florida to rezone their properties for single family homes to be built and sold off. We take our hat off to the Dade County Commissioners in denying All Aboard Florida request for rezoning. All Aboard Florida has to learn to work with the community and not try to bully their way thru everything.
The bond holders are safe for now. We will see if Randal Nardone has learned how to be a good neighbor. Watch how thing unfold.

All Aboard Florida Sells $880 Million in Junk Bonds!!!

Florida East Coast Railway

Jacksonville, Fla. (Jan. 19, 2011) – Florida East Coast Railway completed a successful refinancing through the sale of $475 million of six-year senior secured notes at an interest rate of 8.125 percent.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of our refinancing, which we believe will position Florida East Coast Railway to capitalize on exceptional opportunities for growth,” said James Hertwig, president and CEO. “The pricing of the senior secured notes we issued today was very attractive, with investor demand reflecting the strong underlying fundamentals of our company. We also extended the maturity of our long-term debt to 2017, which will provide significant capital flexibility going forward. We look forward to continuing to build our business from a very solid financial base, with a focus on what we believe are extremely attractive opportunities to grow our franchise through disciplined investments.”
Bank of America Merrill Lynch served as the bookrunning manager for the sale.

The Port of Miami is also restoring its railway connection to the FEC's Hialeah rail yard with money provided under a federal stimulus program.
With the canal's widening project under way, South Florida's ports want the big ships to stop here first and unload containers onto the FEC Railway for fast delivery all the way into the nation's heartland. (The FEC connects with some of the nation's biggest railways systems, such as Norfolk Southern and CSX.)

 All Aboard Florida

All Aboard Florida, a unit of Fortress Investment Group LLC (FIG), issued $405 million of debt to help finance a high-speed railway along the state’s eastern coast over the opposition of some local residents.
AAF Holdings LLC sold 12 percent, five-year bonds with a payment-in-kind toggle option, which allows interest to be paid in additional notes, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The PIKs, one of the riskiest forms of debt, yielded 10.25 percentage points more than similar-maturity Treasuries. AAF increased the offering from $390 million previously marketed.
The company applied for a $1.875 billion loan from the Federal Railroad Administration, according to Lauren Dunaj, a spokeswoman for All Aboard Florida who works for Finn Partners.

Fortress, the first publicly traded private-equity and hedge-fund manager in the U.S., acquired All Aboard Florida’s parent company, Florida East Coast Industries Inc.

Vincent Signorello

After being denied a requested $1.875 billion in federal loans to help build its high-speed passenger rail line.  All Aboard Florida has modified its financing plan for its proposed passenger rail service, the company's president said Monday. Now, All Aboard Florida instead will use what's known as private activity bonds to finance the project.
The U.S. Department of Transportation must approve this funding mechanism, enabling the bonds to be tax-free for investors. A unit of the state economic-development organization Enterprise Florida, called the Florida Development Finance Corp., will act as the issuer of the bonds, but assumes no financial liability.

Is there a witch hunt out for the Hardemon family? As reported by the Miami Herald this summer, the Miami-Dade Police public corruption unit conducted a covert surveillance operation at Matheson Hammock Park.  Danette Hardemon

Public corruption officers had spent more than $200,000 during an investigation of Danette Hardemon that led to her arrest on charges of stealing $30 in entry fees to a public park. On July 9, detectives began watching her and questioning drivers who’d paid her their entry fee. The next day, after speaking with about 60 motorists, police found six without tickets and believed they had evidence Hardemon may have taken $30. They read Hardemon her Miranda rights and questioned her. THE OFFICERS HAD NO WARRANT FOR HER ARREST.

Stopping All Aboard Florida From Destroying The Community

Edduard Prince is a Community Activist in Miami. He has exposed Randal Nardone and All Aboard Florida in an attempt to destroy the community for capital gain. Randal Nardone is a billionaire hedge fund Boss in New York. The name of Mr. Nardone hedge fund is Fortress Investment Group LLC. Fortress was the first publicly traded hedge fund in the U.S. IN 2007 Fortress was trading at $31 a share when it purchased Florida East Coast Railway(FEC) for 3.5 billion. After the purchase of FEC the bottom of the real estate market fell out, and Fortress stock fell to $.96 by Dec 26, 2008. In an effort to recoup the billions lost by FEC Randal Nardone has come up with a pump and dump scheme. The components of the scheme are.

 1. Issue bonds from the private Florida East Coast Railway to raise money.

 2. Come up with a high speed passenger rail project name All Aboard Florida to raise 2 billion in federal and state money.

3. Arrest poor blacks in Overtown Miami, Florida so they can be displaced and the headquarters can be built in their community.

The only thing Randal Nardone the Billionaire Boss did not foresee was EDDUARD PRINCE. Edduard Prince has exposed the 700 arrest of poor blacks in Overtown, Miami. Edduard Prince has filed a lawsuit that has stopped All Aboard Florida from owing the property to build it's headquarters in Overtown. In short he needs your help.

AL Crespo Report: The Most Dangerous Street In Miami

Written By: Al Crespo May 27, 2014
Website: www.crespogram.

Between August 1, 2012 and July 30, 2013, the Florida East Coast Railway Police arrested 231 people for trespassing when they walked across the railroad track in the photos above.

From a review of the arrest reports and in talking with some of the individuals who continue to walk across the railroad tracks, their real crime was being poor.
The photos above are of NW 17th Street between North Miami Avenue and NW 1st Avenue, and the people arrested were people who for the most part lived on the Westside of the tracks in Overtown.  Many were going or coming from work, or the Publix grocery store on Biscayne Boulevard, or from any number of other locations on the Eastside of the tracks.

They crossed the tracks here because it is the only open section along the tracks between 14th and 20th street that allows one to cross the tracks. When you’re poor - $11 a day poor - and have to walk, the most direct path between two points is always going to be the way you want to go.
For years, this stretch of track was vacant, but a couple years ago the FEC Railway company started refurbishing the track to allow cargo containers to be moved from the Port of Miami to staging areas in Hialeah, and no one disputes the issue of safety when people walk across railroad tracks, but at the same time, the frequency of arrests along a very small portion of the track from roughly NW 8th Street to 20th Street that borders the poorest section of the poorest District in the City of Miami cannot be ignored.
I live in Miami Shores, a predominately White, middle and upper-middle class Village where people walk their dogs along the track all the time, and in checking with local police no one has ever to their knowledge been arrested for trespassing on the FEC tracks.
Most folks who were stopped by the FEC Police received an Arrest Complaint like the one below.

Others weren’t so lucky.
Edduard Prince managed to piss the cops off when he stood up for his rights, and ended up being arrested.  Instead of getting mad, Prince filed a lawsuit.

To his credit, Nazeribe Ihekwaba, the Director of Public Works for the City reached out to the FEC earlier this month in an effort to make the 17th Street crossing a legal thoroughfare.

In addition, I ran into attorney John De Leon, who does a lot of civil rights and first amendment legal work, and he indicated that he had heard about this situation and was interested in talking to folks who might have been arrested for crossing these railroad tracks.  His phone number is 305.740.5347.
The reason why I titled this story as “A Hidden Cost Of How Income Inequality Affects Poor People In Miami,” is because these Arrest Citations become a part of a person’s “criminal record.”
In checking with the Public Defender;s Office I learned that every year as many as 50,000 people in Miami-Dade County are arrested or charged with a misdemeanor - these trespassing charges ARE misdemeanors - and even though the courts have been throwing them out as fast as they’ve been filed - the way in which employers today rely on internet background checks means that these charges can have an impact on hiring, housing and any number of other decisions.
That’s one hell of a price to pay for wanting to walk home or to work the quickest way possible.

It’s Miami, Bitches!

Overtown Residents Systematically Arrested for Crossing Train Tracks

Written by: Trevor Bach

On May 20, 2013, Edduard Prince began walking from his home on 17th Street in Overtown to his job at a legal processing company at 15th and Biscayne, just as he does every day. He crossed the railroad tracks that bisect his street between NW First and North Miami avenues, just like everybody else does.

And then a few minutes later, he was arrested for trespassing, just like hundreds of others have been -- all for walking through their own neighborhood.

"[The officers] were two blocks away from the tracks, on the side, behind other cars," says Prince, whose story was first reported by Al Crespo's Crespogram blog last week. "Once you walk down the street, they kind of like pop out from behind these cars."

In the past couple of years, the Florida East Coast Railway Police, which has jurisdiction over the tracks, has issued at least 700 trespassing arrests in the exact same spot, claims Prince, who has a pending civil lawsuit against the company and who provided Riptide with dozens of other arrest affidavits. The offenders are predominantly black and poor, like most residents in the area, and they're typically walking between Overtown and jobs or businesses east of the tracks or to the Publix on Biscayne Boulevard.
They cross at the trash-strewn rock path at NW 17th Street because it's the only option for seven blocks. Once arrested, they're typically handcuffed and sometimes taken to jail -- only for the charges to be promptly dismissed in court.
"They're targeting poor communities," Jon De Leon, a civil rights lawyer, says. "It has been a program used to detain and arrest minorities."
But Bob Ledoux, a spokesman for the railway, says that his company's main concern is safety and that every year pedestrians are killed trying to walk across tracks. "Depending on the circumstances, the officers have the authority to make arrests if they deem to be warranted," he says.
Prince was arrested around 10 in the morning. He was wearing a hoodie with his hands in his pockets, he says, when the officers converged on him from behind the cars. One pointed a gun. Prince had already heard from friends about the arrests and quickly steeled himself.
"You going to arrest me for walking over the railroad tracks?" he quipped. He told the officers that he worked for an attorney's office and that his was a nonarrestable offense. "OK, smart-ass," he claims one said. "You're going to jail."
Prince was released that day but had to visit the hospital for minor injuries. He filed a claim and then was arrested again a few weeks later, he said, this time without even crossing the tracks.

Faced with complaints from residents like Prince, Miami's public works department filed a request with Florida East Coast Railway last month to create a pedestrian crossing at 17th Street. Ledoux says the railway plans to work on educating residents about the risks.
In the meantime, they're forced to weigh the risk of arrest versus the need to get to work or the grocery store. "It's like a trap for people," De Leon says. "It doesn't make any sense."
